Let’s Dance – Semester 2

$80.00

Description: Dancing is a fun way to stay active, sharpen your mind, and meet new friends. New Vogue sequence dance requires a partner but need not be the traditional couple. Singles are welcome. The steps are developed around pre-set, simple patterns that everyone dances in unison. I break down every routine with lots of repetition and plenty of time to learn. The dance styles vary and include, rhumba, waltz, swing, cha cha, salsa and more. Sequence dancing improves coordination, balance, and cognitive function, so come, join in and have fun with us.
Requirements: Shoes that allow you to turn on the spot and not stick to the floor. A water bottle would be useful.

Description

Introducing the tutor, Mandy Clarke: I am a retired Art and Philosophy high school teacher, with dancing as a passion. I have been a social ballroom dancer for the last 30 years while also being a voluntary dance instructor for the past 10 years, encouraging people to get up on the floor and give dancing a go.
My teaching style has a structured program to enable the beginner to gain confidence, and when ready, add the next dance in. Repetition is a key to success, so I do a lot of that. We take our time, and we help each other.
The great satisfaction that teaching dance brings to me is to see a group of people having fun together, on the dance floor, and to know that I have been a valuable part of the process that has enabled this to happen.
