Description: Would you like to learn how to sew your own clothes and accessories? This is the course for you! Over 7 weeks, you’ll learn the tools and materials you’ll need, how to set up a sewing machine, and how to follow a simple sewing pattern. You’ll make your own cushion cover, a tote bag, a zip pouch and a pair of PJ shorts, and leave with a bunch of new skills to make many more things at home. This course is for complete beginners to sewing.
Requirements: Sewing machines and all tools will be provided by the tutor, as well as some materials. Please see Further Details for more information.

Description

Requirements: Fabric, thread, snaps and a cushion insert will be provided for your first project of a cushion cover. You will need to provide your own fabric and sewing thread for the remainder of the projects which will be discussed in the first session. A $40 levy is included in the course fee to cover the cost of materials for the first project, plus zips, elastic, interfacing, sewing machine needles, paper patterns and printed instructions for all other projects.
Introducing the tutor, Suzie London from Bits ‘n’ Bobbins sewing school: Suzie was born in The Netherlands but moved to Perth with her family aged nine. She was selected for the Special Art Programme at Kalamunda Senior High School and went on to study Graphic Design and Multimedia at TAFE in Northbridge. Suzie decided to move to London when she was 20, and it was there that she learnt to sew, at the London College of Fashion. She has since taught sewing at Sew Over It in London, as well as in the haberdashery department of John Lewis department store on Oxford St. Suzie moved back to Perth at the end of 2019 and works as a freelance illustrator for sewing and craft books, as well as creating her own fabric designs and products under the name Suzie London.
