Health Requirements: Anyone who has had recent surgery or uncontrolled HBP needs to make sure they have checked with their GP if they are well enough to participate in yoga.
Introducing the tutor: I have a Diploma in Teaching and have taught in Education for 39 years. I am a Certified Yoga Teacher having completed an 18 month Teacher Training course in 2008 with Friends in Yoga Inc. and have had my own, local yoga business.
I have furthered my techniques by learning in USA, India and Bali, and continue to maintain a daily regime of yoga along with annual retreats to renew and continue to refresh my knowledge.
I enjoy working with people and encouraging them to move towards becoming whole in every way.
The yoga sessions include: Relaxation, Warm ups, Postures (asanas), Meditation/Yoga Nidra. The benefits are far reaching psychically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

The group is enjoying a lovely second semester with our accomplished tutor Suzie. We’re a motley crew and our classes allow us each to gently work on our stretches, balance and strength, utilising a variety of poses and flowing movements. We start and end our sessions with guided relaxation and meditation. The main hall is a beautiful space for yoga with the treetop views, birdsong and fresh air from the louvred windows, complementing our experience. Each Monday session is a perfect way for us to start the week.

Suzie will often pose questions for us to ponder. We were in ‘tree’ pose and had been standing in the pose for several seconds when Suzie asked, “What makes you happy?”. I have many blessings that make me happy in my life, however yoga is one that truly makes me so. It gives me time to do deep breath work, to move my body and allow myself some relaxation.
We start the session with deep breathing, relaxing our bodies and minds. We can stretch and move our bodies, giving us physical exercise that has a flow-on effect. This helps our mental health, improving muscle mass and function, improving metabolic function, reducing inflammation, and strengthening our immune systems.
We finish our yoga time with relaxation that requires mental concentration, allowing us to fully relax. My body and mind are happy after yoga with Suzie.
