We had a great time learning ukulele this semester. With little effort we have all mastered the basic chords and enjoy singing along as we play on the ukulele.

AnnaMaria has taught us some old folk songs and Aussie classics like “Click go the Shears”, to name a few.

A big thank you to Bridget for coming in and ringing the bell as we all sang “That’s Amore”, a wonderful song about old Napoli.

We would like to thank AnnaMaria for all her hard work and effort in preparing music sheets and songs to suit us. We look forward to others joining us next semester for more fun, music and song.

A little gem of a course and, as the name implies, heaps of fun. Annamaria Thorn presides over the group with a firm hand, and she needs one, as we are an unruly mob (well some of us are!).
Each week we play through very eclectic collection of songs, reflecting diverse age groups and backgrounds, from sixties to nineties, and curated lovingly by Annamaria. There are always some that are new to us, presenting a challenge, which can only be good for arresting mental and cognitive decline.
Morning tea halfway through is provided in turn by the members of the group, and there have been some memorable classics, but also quite unusual (but good) offerings. Some members are gluten-intolerant, and it has been a challenge to learn how to cook with GF ingredients for most of us, but successful, to judge from the number of requests for recipes. Talk is of putting together a cookbook from the collection.
All levels, from absolute beginner to advanced are catered for somehow, and the music provided is prepared by Annamaria. Many thanks to her for the time and effort put in. Highly recommended for a bit of light-hearted fun!
