Introducing the tutor, Jim Pollock: Writing has been Jim’s passion since retiring from teaching in secondary schools ten years ago. He is currently writing a historical fiction novel and has written two non-fiction books on the history of Cambodia, and one on a Scottish tank regiment’s Dunkirk story, based on his father’s experience. He learnt how to write fiction in an intensive writer’s course and has been running Memoir writing classes at Trinity School for Seniors for the last two years.

Jim Pollock has been writing for many years and now shares his love of writing with others in his seniors writing groups. With a background in teaching and research he has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge to share on all aspects of writing with his aim to assist you in creating a personal life story in the written word.

His course is designed to move participants through the 3 stages of writing, all self paced, to allow each writer to plan and develop their personal story to a stage for publication in whatever form they wish. The course covers memoir writing but also includes other types of creative non fiction such as autobiography and historical non fiction.

He has always asked the classes to see the template of ‘archetype’ as a pathway to develop personal transformation stories and as the course has developed more archetypes have been discussed.

If you attend his class you will be immersed in story and have the opportunity to develop a personal slice of life story to share with others. Along the way you will converse with like minded writers and enjoy the variety and knowledge that Jim brings to every class .

If you have a memory you want to develop into story please come along
