We have just completed the 7-week course of ‘Amazing Science Without the Maths’. I would like to express my thanks to Mike Barlow, for putting together the 7-week course with his easy-to-understand PowerPoint® presentations. When I use the word easy, I use it loosely; in the sense that, as most people know, the physical sciences, are not usually easy to get your mind around. However, Mike’s style of presentation accompanied by across-the-table discussions, and clarification, made each subject more engaging and illuminating, indeed some more than others. The subjects covered were; Water, Heat, Atoms, Gravity, Light, Galaxies and finally a small section on numbers
As you can see, the course covered a good range; each week had something to pique the interest and as for myself and I’m sure others in the group, an urge to go and explore a bit more on the subject. I would urge anyone with the slightest interest in the physical sciences, to go and give it a try, as I don’t think you will be disappointed.
