Description: The environment has many challenges. Eclecticism is a conceptual approach, with NO underlying assumptions, but makes use of any framework to gain insights into what is happening. This course will contemplate, discuss, and examine a different environmental issue each week; success stories of rehabilitation and why; latest from world of science, impact of climate issues/environmental degradation on health & well-being, our responsibility to future generations, all with a dose of pragmatism.
Requirements: Some weeks there will be articles to read or videos to view prior to class.

Introducing the tutorDr Marilyn Bennet-Chambers BSc(HumBiol)(Hons) BSc(Biol) BPsych PhD (Curtin) PostGradCert (Biostatistics)(UnivMelb): Dr Bennet-Chambers is an extremely well qualified and experienced expert in biosciences. She is a former lecturer and head of department (Human Biology) at Curtin University and coordinated research ethics, Honours, and T&L for the School of Biomedical Sciences (now Curtin Medical School) until retiring in 2014. Her specialist teaching areas were histopathology, neuroscience, and research methodologies such as biostatistics. Moreover, her research interest is environmental toxicology (multidisciplinary) especially metal contamination, uptake pathways into organisms and impact on environment. Marilyn is passionate about the environment and protecting it from contaminants.
