Dates for your diary
Monday 12 October - Term 4 Commences

Welcome...

Hello,

Hope you all have enjoyed a relaxing break, whether a holiday, relaxing with family or perhaps like me you tackled the winter weeds in your garden. This activity always reminds me of my advancing years as parts of my body ache that signal a longer recovery before the next foray into weed control. It is satisfying to see the results and I find I do quite a lot of thinking!!!

This edition includes information about the next Centre Lunch, a reminder you can still enrol for Term 4 courses, and a request for EOIs in a new course in 2027 in Wool Spinning.

Ciao
Marilyn, Editor

From the Coordinators...

Welcome Back to KCLC…
A very warm welcome back to KCLC! We hope you have all had a wonderful break and are feeling refreshed and ready for another great term.

Term Starts Monday
We are excited to welcome everyone back for our final term of the year. We are looking forward to seeing our Centre buzzing again with plenty of activity.

Centre Lunch – Friday 23 October
Don’t forget our Centre Lunch on Friday 23 October. It is a lovely opportunity to come together, enjoy some good food and catch up with friends.

Members of our Executive Committee and our Centre Liaison Group will also be there, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, share a conversation and enjoy some time together. We would love to see you there!

Have a Look at Our Photo Boards!
We have new photo boards going up, so please take a moment to have a look. You might recognise some familiar faces, and it’s always lovely to see the people who have been part of our KCLC story over the years.

We are so glad to have you all as part of our KCLC community and look forward to sharing another wonderful term together.

Your Coordinators, Anne-Marie, Rosemary and Susanne

From the Registrar...

Term 4 Courses on sale: don't forget to enrol this week!
(If you enrolled in your course at the beginning of the semester, you do NOT have to re-enrol!)

New courses for 2027

We are calling for new tutors and new courses for 2027. If you have something you are passionate about and would love to share with others, please let us know. The timetable is filling up, but there are still spaces available. Check out the information about becoming a tutor on our web site: Tutors - Kalamunda Community Learning Centre

On this note, a new tutor has offered to run an 8-week course on 'Spinning with Wool' in Term 2 next year. As class members need to bring their own spinning wheel or spindle though, we are not sure if it will be viable. I am asking for those of you who may be interested in either attending or possibly lending a spinning wheel to a class member to please fill in an Expression of Interest (by the 25th October). For full details of the course and to submit the EOI, please click on this link.

Centre Lunch invitation…

We’d love you to join us for our next Centre Lunch at 11.45am on Friday 23 October in the Main Hall at the Kalamunda Community Centre. All Kalamunda Community Learning Centre members are warmly invited!

Members from both the Executive Committee and CLG (Centre Liaison Group) will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. We’ll also have lots of photos on display, so come along and see how many familiar faces you can spot and perhaps put a few names to them!

No booking is required. Just bring a plate of food to share and enjoy a relaxed lunch and a chat with other members.

Never been to a Centre Lunch before? Click here to watch our Centre Lunch video to see what you can expect!

We look forward to seeing you there!

Class News Semester Two...

✍ Please feel free to let us know anything interesting that you are up to in your Semester Two classes, even though we don't have any official class news reporters. Submissions can be emailed to [email protected] or written notes handed in to KCLC office.

This can be a class activity, or description, of what happens in the class (or tell us about your wonderful Tutor!). Make it succinct, around 150 words, give or take, and photos. These will be shared in Centre Talk when space permits.

Please note that submissions for Centre Talk should be emailed to [email protected]. An email, acknowledging receipt of your contribution, will be sent.
